About the role

Working from our stylish and modern purpose-built offices in West Yorkshire, you will have overall responsibility for the financial health of our Company – which specialises in the manufacturing and retail of UK made Luxury Window Furnishings.

The role is part of the senior leadership team of the business and plays a key role in delivering both the finance and business strategy direction for sustainable growth. Reporting directly into the MD and working in partnership with our Senior Management Team (SMT) you will drive a profitable, growing and financially healthy business by guiding them in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.

Being a qualified and experienced leader, you will know what the day to day looks like. Overall, you will be responsible for company budgeting, both monthly for the current financial year PnL and the agreed three-year business plan and for reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual ‘actual’ company financial performance verses budget, highlighting variances and making recommendations to the SMT.

Leading the management accountants in the production and development of management/financial accounting and reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts for audit and will provide guidance and advice on all operational finance matters to colleagues across the organisation.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a small, talented and successful finance team c.5 across payroll, accounts payable & receivable, management accountants, statutory reporting and business partnering.

The role can be flexible for full time or part time working – a minimum of 3 days per week is required. It is more important that we have the right person who can bring the relevant gravitas and experience to the table.

If this is something that you are interested in and have the following, then we want to know more!

  • Proven work experience as Head of Finance, Director of Finance or similar role at a strategic level.
  • In depth understanding of cashflow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping.
  • Hands on experience with budgeting and risk management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage 50 Accounts and MS Office – Advanced Excel.
  • Experience of presenting to and participating within board meetings.
  • Advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field
  • Strong commercial awareness in an Ecommerce SME
  • Leadership experience and skills
  • Strong and collaborative communicator
